The multi-sectoral trade and investment mission from The Netherlands to Benin from 9 to 12 May 2017, organised by Afric (www.afric-eu.com) on request of the Dutch Embassy in Benin has been evaluated as very successful.
SANEC/NAFTC-AFRICA has functioned as co-organiser to this mission together with Afric-eu.
The main purpose of the visiting delegation was to confirm and deepen the renewed bilateral relationship between The Netherlands and Benin and to bring Dutch expertise in the field of food security and agro-processing, (climate) smart agriculture, water resource management, solar energy and port development and logistics under the attention.
The 10 renown Dutch companies from these expertise areas who joined the delegation met with over 80 companies from the Benin business community and government representatives.
They have either managed to set up business relationships via local partnerships or experienced that the sector in which they are functioning directly corresponds to the needs of the Benin governments’ Strategic Plans for the coming years.
A follow-up mission to Benin or Netherland is highly advised to further analyse the mentioned focus sectors, which are open to invite Dutch expertis.
Several Dutch companies have already expressed their interest to attend. Afric and SANEC/NAFTC-Africa look forward to keeping in touch with the participants and the Embassy and would welcome an opportunity for such mission.
